My challenge was my short term career/educational path. I was in between working and doing my masters (something I had been postponing for 2 years). I didn’t know what I wanted/needed to do and my mentor helped me towards finding the answer and taking some steps.
I am a big advocate of mentoring and I would recommend it to anyone as there’s always something to learn from any conversation. However, people who want to become mentees should bear in mind that they should be as open as possible to share their thoughts, feelings, experiences and put 100% on their side in order to benefit from the process. The mentees should not expect only from the mentor but contribute themselves to make success happen!
